Our philosophy brings us together:

  • We believe international cooperation is an exchange. Working together, we all learn and grow.
  • We believe in a model of development that reassesses the customs, habits and ways of the areas where we work, using natural materials and respecting the environment.
  • We encourage both the involvement of partners and those who will benefit from projects.
  • We are an apolitical, humanist organisation that respects a universal ethic, with no links to any type of religious organisation.
  • We believe that reducing the imbalance between “North” and “South” is a two-way process, and that this quest encompasses realizing the need to reduce the level of ‘needs’ in the North, performing awareness-raising campaigns that culminate in action, and launching and maintaining projects that help to eradicate poverty and marginalisation in the South.
  • As a non-hierarchical organisation we aim to maintain horizontal working relationships, where responsibilities are taken on by different people in defined, yet flexible areas of activity. We believe interdisciplinary working is a mainstay for the proper functioning of teamwork.
  • We believe that joining forces, learning from other experiences and being open to exchange will help improve the quality of our projects, wherever we are, and that this approach will benefit everyone involved. International cooperation has neither ‘one size fits all’ definitive solutions nor is action from a single front –one organisation or group– sufficient to reduce all these inequalities.
