We train healthcare workers and carry out health checks in schools and villages, working in conjunction with local healthcare agencies. One doctor and two nurses regularly visit the different villages and where they examine, diagnose and prescribe the right treatments to people who need them.

We also organize workshops on healthcare, nutrition and hygiene.
The IRDT team works to organise vaccinations and post-vaccination check-ups, helping to fulfil the objectives established by the national immunisation programme, which in rural areas is a real challenge.
Several health organizations are working in Bodhgaya. With some of these, such as the Root Institute, we have formed good working relationships and channels for joint projects with respect to training on and the evolution of severe cases.

In India, allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic treatments exist side by side harmoniously; the latter two are widely used by the population as well as by healthcare workers. A homeopathic doctor works with the IRDT to help diagnose cases and prescribe suitable treatments.
